Solid Waste Minimization (SWM)

The Solid Waste Minimization Program’s primary obective is to reduce the amount of waste materials that are disposed of by Texas A&M University in the local landfill. This is accomplished by two means:

– Increase the amount of materials that are recovered and send back through recycling streams and
– Reduce the amount of material that comes onto Campus that has to be disposed of by either wasting or recycling.

In order to maximize it’s efforts, UES Recycling Services keeps track of all the recycling on campus as well as the waste streams to understand what steps can be taken. You can see this data in the charts below.
